Casa de "La Cilla"

Following my failed attempt on Wednesday to see the advertised photographic exhibition, this morning I thought I would make another effort.
Walking up through the "Barrio" (old part) I came across a small crowd of children playing with their pet ferret.
This is Antonio holding Huron the ferret, both of whom were really friendly.

Moving on to the entrance of "La Cilla", the old courtyard of the castle, which now contains the Tourist Office, the Museo and an information centre about the Via Verde......and hopefully an exhibition of photography!.

Looking into the courtyard at one of the old castle towers.

The inner courtyard of the Cilla.

Within the courtyard is a superb display about the Via Verde, a disused railway track now used for leisure activities such as cycling and walking. It passes through beautiful scenery, over viaducts and through tunnels for 36 kms between Olvera and Puerto Serrano in the west.
The entrance to the Via Verde information centre.

The displays in the centre.

There is even a "virtual" cycle ride for those who aren't feeling that energetic, allowing you to cycle the length of the track or any part of it.

Looking over the castle parapet down Calle Subida a la Iglesia.

From the same point, looking in the opposite direction up Calle Mirador.

Leaving the "Cilla", I couldn't resist this picture of the snow still on the mountain tops of the Serrania de Ronda, taken from the front of the Church.

And no....when enquiring of the photographic exhibition in the tourist office, despite it being advertised as being on from the 1st to 31st December, it's possible it might be "proxima semana" (next week)....or possibly not. I love it here.
