The lake is 2.5km's wide and 6.5km's in length and lies about 35 kms east of Olvera.We arrived at the visitor centre about 10.30'ish to be informed that we were a bit early in the year as the majority of birds had not yet arrived but there were apparently a few out in the middle of the lake.
So not to be disappointed, we were given a guide and proceeded to walk to the first Mirador (viewpoint) to have a look.

We left the main visitor centre and drove around the lake to this spot, looking back towards Fuente de Piedra in the distance........but still no flamingos.
Never mind. A nice drive out and we look forward to coming here again in a few weeks time, when hopefully our luck will change.
