As promised in the previous blog, we wandered down to the "Plaza de Andalucia" today at midday to watch the opening event of the Carnaval. The crowds were gathering in anticipation for the bands to appear. At about one, the procession of groups arrived.
The group below, who we later learned were from Arcos de la Frontera, were happy to pose as soon as they saw the camera.
The girl band pictured below were from Olvera and they were brilliant in their harmonies.
The band pictured below were from Ronda and were very colourful as well as being very talented.

This group came on dressed in their monks habits but a couple of songs in to their routine disrobed to the colourful jackets below. 
The guys below were also from Ronda.
We really enjoyed this few hours watching the groups perform and look forward to tomorrow to see what else is on.
