A short drive out this morning to explore a dirt road just outside of Olvera, that leads down to the Via Verde
and then beyond into them there hills. Crossing the Via Verde, initially the road was stony but in reasonable condition. However, after about five kms or so, the going got a bit rougher with many potholes and ruts so I returned back to the main road passing this old chap and his donkey on the way.

I rejoined the main A-384 and turned off to La Muela, heading for the ruins of the Estación de Navalagrulla on the Via Verde.
Alongside the track were many webs which I believe are home to a type of Funnel Web spider.
