Fuente Alta

The natural spring at the cortijo just outside Olvera from where we normally collect our water has been closed off for the last couple of weeks......we think because the cattle have been brought back to the farm from the fields.

So instead, we drove the short distance to the village of Algodonales to the natural spring known as "Fuente Alta", which loosely translates as "spring source".
Normally the water gushes out of the pipe but was quite a bit slower today - hopefully not a sign of low water levels.

Next to the spring is a pleasant plaza with a fountain feature in the centre and seating around the outside.

These two senorita's were busy at work watering the tree's and shrubs around the plaza.
