Montellano

A spur of the moment decision today to take a trip out as the weather for early next week is not predicted to be good.
So we set off about 11.30am on a circular route via Moron de la Frontera, past the USAF airbase just outside Moron (which I just wanted to see out of interest), onwards to El Coronil and eventually ending up at Montellano, a small town with a population of about 7000 inhabitants.
The picture right is of a tiled map of the town, taken outside the offices of the Guardia Civil.

We continued our short drive into town, parked in the Plaza de Andalucia and started our walk around. For a Sunday it was quite busy with plenty of bars and cafe's open.

This is the town hall square with the Ayuntamiento pictured below.

The "Iglesia Parroquial del Senor San José" on one side of the square.

As we were wandering we could hear music being played. Eventually our ears led us to a park area where a band was rehearsing. We walked past the building once before plucking up the courage to ask if we could have a look inside. We were gladly invited in and stayed to listen to four or five songs. The lead singer was called Angeles and the band named "Espejismo" (Mirage). They were really good, playing easy listening spanish pop music.

Montellano was a really nice town, clean and friendly and definately worth a visit.
