After several weeks of emotional turmoil, in particular for Anne, it appears that "Socks" , our adopted stray (see linked post below) has now thankfully found a permanent home.
Three weeks ago, she gave birth to four "Sockettes" and has been cared for not only by Anne but also by the occupiers and builders converting an apartment block in town. We have refrained from publishing details of her location to ensure that she remained hidden and undisturbed to look after her pups.
However, we now know through Juan Peres, one of the builders, that homes have been found for Socks and all of the pups, which is really good news. The "Sockettes".
The builders had built a protective, covered area so that Socks and her pups could be hidden from view and protected.
This is Juan Peres. When Anne heard that they had found a home we took him and his workmates some beers in appreciation of all that they had done......although he was very reluctant to accept them.
In addition, our friends Catherine and Eddy donated a feeding bowl and dog food that we also gave to Juan.
Needless to say, we are really pleased at the outcome as Anne in particular has spent many days and weeks, not to mention shedding quite a few tears. worrying about her.
We walked down to feed her this evening and she and her pups were no longer there so all we can hope is that they are all safe and have a future to look forward to.Needless to say, we are really pleased at the outcome as Anne in particular has spent many days and weeks, not to mention shedding quite a few tears. worrying about her.
