Poppy paradise

Anne wanted a new house plant to replace the one in the kitchen so today, with our friend Gerry, we drove to a garden centre just the other side of Setenil de las Bodegas, a town about 25 minutes drive south west of Olvera.
After passing through the village of Torre Alháquime we came upon a field of beautiful poppies and I couldn't resist taking a few pictures.

The countryside is looking spectacular at the moment and no matter which road you take you will come across wild flowers in all their splendour.

Driving on, we arrived at the garden centre just outside Setenil.
Pictured are the views from the centre looking towards Ronda on the ridge in the distance with the town of Arriate in the foreground. Must get there one day for a visit.

The weather was now warm and sunny after a cloudy start so returning through Setenil we stopped off for some refreshment at the Restaurante Bar Dominguez in the Plaza de Andalucia, one of several bars in the square.

A decoratively tiled house in the square.

After a very pleasant couple of drinks we headed back home to Olvera.
