Siesta silence

As temperatures soar during the summer months, Olvera like most towns and villages falls quiet between the hours of two and five in the afternoon for the traditional siesta.

It's unusual to see anyone about, apart from crazy british dogwalkers hugging desperately to any shade available, as was the case on our walk this afternoon. The temperature gauge on Calle Llana read 34.6°C in the shade although upon returning home the thermometer on our terrace said near to 39°C in full sun.
Calle Maestro Amado.

I'm not sure whether this small plaza at the bottom of Calle Cantillos, here and below, has a name but it's on the site of the former town post office.

The junction of Calle Cantillos with Calle Garcia Lorca to the left and Calle Peñon to the right.

Calle Peñon.

The view up Calle Jesús.

Still a little shade left on Calle Zorrilla.

The Arco de Zorrilla that leads into the Plaza de Andalucia.

The views here and below of Calle Llana.

Nearly home now, down Calle Azuaga, still managing to find a little shade.

Now, where's that iced drink?.
