New Year's day

New year's day and a whole new year of exploration and discovery to look forward to. So why not start close to home with a walk along the nearby Via Verde, as we did this morning.
The Via Verde is a disused railway track that stretches for 36 kms from Olvera in the east to Puerto Serrano in the west and now provides an amenity for leisure activities such as walking, cycling and horse riding.
Looking up to Olvera on a warm, sunny day.

One of the thirty tunnels along the route.

The route offers stunning landscapes along the way.

C'mon dad. I can hear rabbits over there!!

After a really pleasant, leisurely walk, we returned to the start of our walk at the Estación de Olvera.

The café at the Estación was closed so we stopped off at the nearby Platero equestrian centre for a coffee on the sunny terrace.

Mmmm. Those biscuits are good.
