The Ayuntamiento have just published the schedule of events for Carnaval as below. As always, please check with the Town Hall website here for accuracy of times and locations:
Saturday, February 18th at 18:00 hrs in the Pavilion at the Fairground. The Carnival Proclamation of 2012 and awards for the Writing and Drawing contest and the presentation of the award to the winner of the 2012 Carnival Poster Contest. This is followed by a performance from the Chirigota singing groups "Los que cobran el día diez" and "Los de la tacita".
Sunday, February 19th at 13.30 hrs in the park on Vereda Ancha. A performance by the Chirigota singing groups "Los que cobran el día diez" and "Los de la tacita" and a troupe from Ronda "Los guardacuentos".
Monday, February 20th at 16:00 hrs. A parade by the children of the Nursery school E.I. El Olivo (Guardería). Departure from the Nursery on Avda. Julian Besteiro to the petrol station, Barriada Coronación, Vereda de Pino, Calle Los Angeles and onto the Fairground, arriving at 17:30 hrs for a children's party in with music, entertainment and games.
Tuesday, February 21st at 16:00 hrs. A parade by students of E.E.I. Gloria Fuertes, C.E.I.P. Miguel de Cervantes and San José de Calasanz followed by a party at 17:30 hrs in the Fairground Pavilion with music, games, karaoke.
Thursday, February 23rd at 18:00 hrs. A parade by students of I.E.S. Zaframagón, starting from the school.
From 20:00 to 22:00 hrs, entertainment and music from DJ Chivo in the Fairground Pavilion.
Friday, February 24th at 24:00 hrs. Traditional festival of Carnival. From 02:30am, entertainment and music by DJ Chivo in the Fairground Pavilion.
Sunday, February 26th at 15:00 hrs. Grand Carnaval parade with music, costumes and masks. Leaving from the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, Calles Llana, Victoria, Calvario, Plaza de la Concordia, Avda Julian Besteiro, Calle Peru, Residencia de Mayores, Vereda de Pino, Calle Los Angeles to arrive at the Fairground Pavilion. The parade will be accompanied by the Santa Ana Band of Bugles and Drums of Olvera.
At 17:30 hrs there will be the traditional Carnaval snack of chocolate and cakes.
At 18:00 hrs the awards will be presented for the best costumes amongst the participants in the parade presented by Miguel Ruiz. The categories will be: Individual Child / Children in a group / Individual Adult / Adults in a group.
At 19:00 hrs, entertainment and music by DJ Chivo.
