The last time we visited Osuna was just over four years ago and looking back on the pictures of our last visit a return trip was definitely needed. So this morning we left quite early for the drive to the historic town, about an hour to the north of Olvera.
We parked very easily and walked towards the centre of town. The ornate and elegant facades of the buildings are very noticeable.
The Iglesia Colegial seen in the distance.
The courtyard and cloisters of the Casa de la Cultura.
After a short while we arrived at the Plaza Mayor with the Iglesia Convento de la Concepción at one end and the Ayuntamiento (below) at the other.
We headed upward to the Iglesia Colegial that overlooks the town.
The views here and below across Osuna.
Across the road from the Iglesia Colegial is the 16th century University.
The beautiful cloisters inside the University building.
More elegant facades.
After spending a couple of hours enjoyably wandering around the many sights,we headed home but not before noticing this ornate centrepiece on a roundabout near the exit from town, depicting the ancient towns coat of arms.
