Zahara

This evening, accompanied by Nick and Claire, we drove the short distance to the beautiful pueblo of Zahara de la Sierra.

The large reservoir below the village is a great attraction for watersports enthusiasts.

Anne, I and Calcetines of course with godson Nick at the viewpoint in the centre of the pueblo.
Just visible over Nick's right shoulder is Olvera.

Enjoying a drink at one of the several bars near to the viewpoint.
After a short while, we left Zahara to drive up the nearby winding mountain road to the viewpoint at Puerto de las Palomas. 1345 metres above sea level, stopping along the way to admire the magical view.

The road from the viewpoint is downhill to another lovely pueblo called Grazalema. We enjoyed the stunning scenery before heading back for dinner in Algodonales.
