Just a short stroll around Olvera this morning in temperatures of about 30°C, after a pleasantly cool night.....meaning that we got up late after a good night's sleep.
This is a poster advertising an equestrian event linked to Flamenco dancing that takes place on the Vereda Ancha this coming Saturday, the 15th. We are looking forward to it.
The Vereda Ancha, normally where the amusements and arcades are set up for the Feria that starts soon but this year we have heard the activities are all being moved to the dedicated area at the edge of town. Apart from the additional distance, we wonder how the atmosphere of the event will be affected as there are quite a few bars in this area that contribute to the event with music and dance and who benefit from the number of people who attend. We shall see.
It's pleasing to see that the park area being created on the Peñón de Cerritillo is moving ahead. The path area has now been cemented and benches put in place to make the most of the fantastic views.
Walking back up Calle Garduñera, I walked through an archway near the top and came across this very pleasant "hidden" little passageway, well tended with flowers and shrubs, leading after a short while to a dead end.
Funny, how you can live quite a small place for a couple of years and still be pleasantly surprised by previously undiscovered little gems.
