Agua and the Americas

A visit this morning to the fresh water spring at the cortijo just outside of Olvera. Here and below the views from the farm to Olvera on a warm 26°C day.

Looking north towards Pruna.
Returning to Olvera, I parked on the newest residential development in town. All the streets are named after places and countries in the Americas that were former colonies of Spain, now referred to as Ibero-America. Here looking up Calle Los Angeles.
Calle Argentina here and below

Most of the houses appear to be individually designed and are no doubt very expensive.

The bottom of the development on Avenida Manuel de Falla.
Looking across to the now completely enclosed fairground.

The view of the church and castle from Avenida de IberoAmérica.
Calle Alcantara, across the road from the fairground with Calle Pasadera below.

Calle Puente.

As forecast.....

......the rain clouds gathered early this evening and rumbles of thunder could be heard in the distance.

A few drops of rain fell but as I write it seems that the threatened showers have passed us by.

Postscript to the above: Typically, within an hour of posting the above, the heavens opened for a thirty minute much needed torrential downpour.

After sunset.

El Castillo y la Iglesia

A couple of pictures taken this morning on the outskirts of Olvera of the church and restored arabic castle that dominate the lovely town where we live.

More seasonal temperatures

Temperatures have fallen today to a more seasonal mid twenties celsius, still fairly warm and forecast to stay the same for a couple of days. Here, looking up Callejon Las Torres.
 Calle Salada.

A view of slightly overcast skies to the southeast.

Calcetines and a new puppy friend who ambushed us from behind the bins on Calle Pañolillas.

 A hazy view west.

North to Pruna castle and beyond.
 Calle Bellavista.

Looking up Calle Pico and below Calle Llana.

Ginny and Edward

Just a few pictures of Ginny and my nephew Ed who came to visit us over a long weekend.
As always, it was a pleasure to see our sister-in-law Ginny, made even more enjoyable because Ed made the trip this time.
