Views from the "Peñóns"

A beautiful, sunny morning with the temperature at about 11°C.
I stopped off at the "Peñón del Cerretillo", the park area entered from Calle Victoria that offers great views, like this looking to the east of Olvera.

The view north from the park towards Pruna.

 Looking down Calle Fuente Nueva.
The fountain in the Plaza de la Concordia from where I headed to the Plaza de Andalucia below.

The "Peñón del Sagrado Corazón", the entrance to which is in the Plaza, offers some of the best views over the town and further afield. Here and below looking to the southwest.

 East across Olvera.
The "Monumento del Sagrado Corazón" that dominates the park, ready to bring in the New Year.

Olvera this morning........

.......10.5°C, sunny and quite pleasant for a wander around the shops.

The former Unicaja Bank building on Avenida Julián Besteiro has now been converted to a solicitors office.

Christmas cheer

Just a few pictures taken last night and tonight of the Christmas lights brightening up the chilly winter evenings,
In the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

  Calle Mercado.
In the Plaza de la Concordia.

As always, the shop windows contain decorative and imaginative scenes.

 Calle Llana here and below.

 Feliz Navidad.

Yesterday and today

Problems with our laptop yesterday prevented posting news of a new bread shop "Panadería La Victoria" opening in Calle Victoria.

We, like quite a few other people, couldn't resist popping in to have a look and buy some of the delicious bread on display.

 Calle Calvario.
Fairly busy on the corner of Avda. Julián Besteiros and the Plaza de la Concordia.
Back to this morning and gas bottle delivery day.

A definitely very chilly 8°C in the shade on Calle Llana.

The Floristería on Calle Mercado decorated ready for Christmas.

From a chilly terrace

A chilly 3.6°C morning, a little cold to be wandering to the market particularly as we didn't really need anything, so a few pictures on a quick trip to the terrace.
I bet that wood burner's nice and cosy.....got to beat a Calor gas stove anyday!!.
