A wander this morning up to the Plaza de la Iglesia revealed a new view of an oft neglected viewpoint. A tiled plaque has been placed commemorating the Spanish conquistadors discovery and exploration of Central and South America led by Francisco Pizarro, one of whose members was Nicolás de Ribera who was born in Olvera and subsequently became the first mayor of Lima, Peru in 1535.
Benches have been placed to enjoy the view's pictured below but sadly spoilt by the amount of dog mess everywhere.
Views here to the south and below to the west on a chilly, breezy morning.
The views over Olvera from the front of the Iglesia Parroquial.
