El Belen de Los Remedios
A visit this morning to the Ermita de Los Remedios, located about 2kms outside of Olvera. It is traditional at this time of year for Nativity Scenes (Belen's) to be created and displayed in houses, shop windows and other locations but none is more spectacular than the Belen in the patio area of Los Remedios.

El Gordo - "The Fat One"
Sadly, we were not lucky in this year's national Christmas lottery (known as "El Gordo), despite prize money on offer of €2.52 billion (£2.09 billion) in what is recognised as the world's richest lottery draw. However, one lucky town, Grañén in north-eastern Spain, whose residents bought all 1,800 winning tickets with the number 58268, are now celebrating an incredible payout of €720 million (£599 million). Fantastic for them and what a Christmas they'll all have.
For us, well never mind, there's always next year.

Views from the park
A wander into the park today from the Plaza de Andalucia and pleasant to see that a lot of the overgrown ivy had been removed, rock exposed and new plants in the many beds.
The water feature has been cleaned and possibly restocked.
The views from the top are as always stunning, here looking down upon the fairground and the Instituto de Zaframagón (Senior and 6th form UK equivalent school) in the centre picture. Beyond, the low lying smoke from the many olive wood fires in the campo.
